“Seasonal Showcase” Mini Competition Series

​

Are you looking for a no-stress competition to show off your vocal skills, plus have your entry featured on air? Horizon Radio's "Seasonal Showcase" is a 5-week, in-station mini competition series that's held every two to three months, and focuses on major holidays and seasons.

 

The next edition begins July 30th. Registration is ongoing - join any time!

Overall Themes

  • The competition will have weekly themes based on the major holiday or season that takes place during that month. 

  • Weekly rounds will increase in difficulty as the weeks progress. There may be a video requirement for the final week.

Who can participate?

  • ANY registered member/staff of Horizon may participate. 

  • NOTE: Any staff involved in creating weekly themes/rules will be excluded as a competitor for that week.

Schedule

  • Competitions will run on a quarterly basis.

  • Weekly theme and rules will be announced and posted in the competition room.

  • Weekly entries due will be due the following Sunday by 12pm ET. 

  • In-station voting is due by Tuesday at midnight (ET).  

  • Results Show will air on Wednesday at 7 pm ET, and will showcase (at minimum) the top 25 entries.

Competition Room

  • We will open a separate room specifically for participants in the competition. If you’d like to join, click the link above!

  • There you'll find the weekly theme and any important information/rules, including how to submit your entry!

  • Voting will be announced in the main Horizon Radio chat room, so that all registered members of Horizon Radio may vote.

  • You may join the competition at any time, even after it has started!

Scoring

  • There will be NO official judges for this competition series. 

  • Weekly winners will be selected by votes submitted by current, registered members of Horizon Radio, thru a Google Form. 

  • Weekly scores will NOT be cumulative. Participants may skip weeks and still submit an entry later in the comp. 

  • Weekly entries are encouraged for the best chance to win the grand prize; the final round is ONLY open to the top 5 winners from each of the 4 previous weeks.

  • In the event of a tie for 1st place during any week, the winner will be decided by a staff vote. (Only one prize awarded each week.)

Prizes

  • First place winners from weeks 1 to 4 win a Line app sticker pack of their choosing.

  • Overall winner (voted 1st place during week 5) will win $25 (payable via Zelle, Paypal, or Venmo.)

Results Show

  • The results show will air every Wednesday at 7 pm ET during the competition, and will showcase the top 25 entries from that week.  

  • Listeners will have the opportunity to compete against each other with fun, themed trivia during the show!
